| The phrase "Ten Commandments" is highly familiar in Western culture and is often extended to any immutable code of conduct.[citation needed] Two famous films of this name were directed by Cecil B. DeMille, a silent movie released in 1923, and another movie in 1956, starring Charlton Heston as Moses.
